چکیده

Postharvest deterioration has been a major problem associated with yam storage for both famers and traders it is caused mostly by micro-organisms especially fungi. During the of yam, many organisms such as Aspergillus flavus, niger, Penicillium citrinum Rhizopus stolonifer are often reported to cause rotting stored yams. The aim this research find out antifungal effect some commonly used anti-dermatophytic agents,(Fluconazole, Terbinafine Hcl, Ketoconazole, Sodium propionate Griseofulvin) on above named isolated fungi spores. This was carried using zone inhibition, MICs, MFCs, FICs FFCs measure activities test agents against phytopathogenic These were found have fungitoxic effects in order of: Hcl > Fluconazole Ketoconazole Griseofulvin. work indicated that able inhibit spores widely be yams rot when stored. observation study showed good efficient fungicide known during can effectively arrested combination these fungicides.

Antifungal Activity of Nor-securinine Against Some Phytopathogenic Fungi

Crude extracts and active principles from medicinal plants have shown potential role in controlling plant diseases in glasshouses as well as in fields as one of the safest and ecofriendly methods. The effect of nor-securinine (an alkaloid) isolated from Phyllanthus amarus has been seen against spore germination of some fungi (Alternaria brassicae, A. solani, Curvularia pennisetti, Curvularia sp...

Antioxidant and Antifungal Activity of Selected Medicinal Plant Extracts against Phytopathogenic Fungi

BACKGROUND Medicinal plants are used by many ethnic groups as a source of medicine for the treatment of various ailments in both humans and domestic animals. These plants produce secondary metabolites that have antimicrobial properties, thus screening of medicinal plants provide another alternative for producing chemical fungicides that are relatively non-toxic and cost-effective. MATERIALS A...

Antifungal activity of recombinant rice LTP2 on some phytopathogenic fungi

Plant lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) are members of the pathogenesis-related proteins (PR-14) and some of them exhibit activity against phytopathogenic fungi. To investigate whether rice LTP2 plays a role in antifungal activity, the coding region of an Iranian rice Ltp2 gene was cloned into expression vector pET24-d(+) and then expressed in Escherichia coli Rosetta strain (DE3). The potential a...
